Materials/Techniques: Machine appliqué; machine quilting, shading and details with gel pen, dye sticks and crayon.

Artist's Statement: Have you ever gazed up on a starry night and had fond memories float into your consciousness? Your "hippocampus" has been functioning. It is the area of the brain that stores memories and one of the first areas affected by Alzheimer's disease. I hope that this quilt helps you remember the purpose of this area of the brain that is always mentioned in lectures on Alzheimer's disease.
