About This Item

Description of Item

14,471 - More Sunshine

JoAnn Stowell
Longview, WA USA

Width: 8.5" Length: 11.5"

Materials/Techniques: I have a huge scrap basket with a lid so no one sees into it. I just can't get rid of those pretty fabrics. I did the sunflower on a white background and then used Inktense pencils to color it. It is raw edge appliquéd and I used a lot of copper metallic threads. It is thread signed.

Artist Statement: The sunflower quilt was the first little quilt that I did for AAQI. I painted that one so decided I would appliqué this one. I plant seeds every year and the birds replant them. I wonder where they will come up this year?

Dedication: To my mother who had Alzheimer's and to my friends Barbara and Ele, they are such great caregivers.

This quilt has Fast Finish Triangles.
