The Texas Valor Project is excited to announce our first annual Sporting Clay Shoot and Concert benefiting Veterans and First Responders that have received a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

Our leadership team’s mission in founding the Texas Valor Project was to raise awareness and support for our Nation’s service members that have suffered from a TBI.

What is a TBI?

The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) states that a TBI occurs when external physical forces cause damage to the brain, whether from impact, penetrating objects, blast waves or rapid movement of the brain within the skull. The Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center reported nearly 414,000 TBIs among U.S. service members worldwide between 2000 and late 2019. Conditions from a TBI can range from headaches, irritability, sleep disorders, memory problems, slower thinking, and severe depression. These conditions affect the way our heroes interact with their community, employers, friends, and families.  While we do not have the same national data collection of First Responders’ TBIs, we certainly know their exposure to unique on-the-job hazards heightens the risk of TBI and that awareness of First Responder TBI does not get the same level of attention as the risk warrants.

About our Event

We have a whole day jam-packed with fun activities and threads of national pride woven throughout the day to raise money for those severely impacted by TBI.  We will have guest speakers that have been through brain treatment, a sporting clay shoot, a pistol & rifle range accompanied by gun manufacturers, Live & Silent Auction, live music, lunch, dinner & much more.

We will start the day off with the sporting clay shoot where we will honor a fallen legend at each station with their story.
If you are not in the clay shoot, you can test some new firearms by our sponsors at the pistol and gun range.

After the clay shoot we will announce the winners and give out some prizes followed by a quick live music performance while we serve food and alcohol provided by our sponsors before starting the Live Auction.  We will have Vacations, Hunting & Fishing Trips, cool services and experiences, and much more!
