Our own faculty member, Mr. Tommy Romano, has been generously assembling gorgeous quilts for the Strake Jesuit auction for 15 years – let this year be your year to take home this keepsake!

As its name reflects, this year’s auction quilt is a wonderful blend of modern and traditional.  The quilt is made using high quality cotton fabrics in a pattern that looks like it has been painted with watercolors.  The vibrant blue, purple, green, and gold colors come together and blend into a very soothing overall effect. The layout of the blocks was inspired by the traditional barn-raising pattern, which has a diamond center surrounded by a series of larger diamonds radiating out from the center.  Watercolor Raising has the center off-set to give it amore contemporary look, complementing the modern look of the fabric.”
