My 2 precious abuelitas guided my faith throughout my life.  Their life stories were filled with the greatest of losses--the untimely passing of both their husbands and the tremendous heartache of one of them burying 6 of her 9 children.  Although they carried sadness with them well into their 90's, I always saw peace and joy in their eyes.  When I was a young adult, I called them often to ask how they could possibly press on.  They always pointed to God and told me they surrendered all to Him.  It would take years for me to fully understand that it meant the God had held them all along.  And now, because of their example, I understand too.  I carry their love and the promises God spoke to them in my heart.
