F. Carrington Weems has graciously donated
these Audubon Amsterdam Edition prints
in honor of Caroline Staub Callery

Thank you to Mr. Carrington Weems for donating these magnificent prints so that our donors, members and volunteers might have the opportunity to own a piece of John James Audubon’s exquisite artwork.

This collection experienced water damage about 30 years ago during a flood in New Orleans. Each print has been inventoried by a Houston Audubon staff member and notes about each print can be found on the online auction.

A handful of prints are in very good condition, many are in good to fair condition, and the rest have a bit more damage. Most of the water issues can be found on the outer part of the print not on the actual image itself. Clever framing could hide the damage on most.

Although they have water damage, they still have value. It has been noted that prints with tears, stains and other damage should be valued 50% less than the original value. None of these prints have tears but many have foxing and stains—some noticeable while others leaving only waves or wrinkles. Please be aware if you choose to trim the print, you will lose all the value.
