Beckett was awarded Nobel Prize in Literature in 1969. Minihan is famous in his own right - Irish photographer most known for his Beckett photographs.  Beckett was rarely photographed before he met Minihan. Minihan has had many exhibitions worldwide at famous galleries, including MoMA, Rio 1984; Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris1986; National Portrait Gallery, London 1987-88 and others.
