Quilt, 78X85, circa 1900. Red work embroidery blocks on white fabric, set on point. White border. Attached documentation says that the quilt was embroidered by Dessie Mendenhall, age 14, who lived in Delaware County, Indiana and died in the1940s. Hand quilting with feathers along the diagonal joining seams with a small square grid behind the embroidered figures. The border is quilted with double diagonal lines. White fabric is heavily yellowed. There are a few spots and one hole. Embroidery all appears intact. Binding, applied by machine, is frayed. Condition fair to good.
