U2 began as an Irish rock band from Dublin in 1976.  Their 5th album, The Joshua Tree made them international superstars and was their greatest success.  They have sold 150-170 million records worldwide and have 22 Grammy awards.  They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005.  Rolling Stones ranked U2 at number 22 on the list of the “100 Greatest Artists of All Time.”
