Mrs. Fisher was part of a small group of five quilters who got together regularly. Lyric Kinard was a featured quilter at the Ogallala Quilt Festival one year. She had written a book, “Art Plus Quilt.” Mrs. Fisher's group used her book. It gave them creativity exercises and taught them how to create and talk about art quilts. This is the first in a series of art quilts she created using inspiration from the book. Help for Haiti was from the lesson on texture. She used ropes and satin fabric to create the texture.
