It's a New Day!

Linda Carlson
Mexico, MO USA

Width: 15" Length: 15"

Materials/Techniques: This quilt was fused, machine appliquéd and heavily quilted with bright rayon and metallic threads. Swarovski crystals were applied to the sun and its rays to signify the glow of a new day dawning above the horizon.

Artist Statement: "It's A New Day!" refers to the dawning eradication of Alzheimer's disease provided by the million dollar tireless fund raising efforts of Ami Simms through her Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative. It is my original design based on the concept of its name; constructed and embellished by me, and quilted by Tammy Bush. It was a privilege to be asked to participate in this final Celebrity Auction after being part of the very first AAQI quilt tour, book and video.
