Artist's Statement: When I think of 'voices' I remember hearing my mother and her sisters talking in the kitchen at night after I was tucked up in bed. Their voices would rise, lower to whispers, and then they would break out in laughter. Using old letters and fabric scraps, I made a quilt that reflects that tradition of family storytelling that went on before my mother and continues now.
