About This Item

Description of Item

Photographs are remnants of the subtle moments that bring us emotion. Remnants of moments we long to return to but never will. "Light" was taken in a quiet moment on a walk to explore a new location for a contracted shoot. It was a moment that would never have been remembered had it not been for the capture that permanently engraved meaning upon itself. Light danced off the leaves and made the depths of the forest quite mysterious, almost frighteningly so. Yet, that fear sparked more curiosity that made you feel as compelled to enter into the unknown. A metaphor for the struggles of life at the time. Something so beautiful on the other side. The light only illuminating the gorgeous and easy parts of the path while the dark shadows cast down from that tight, hid the challenges that certainly will ensue. I sat there for at least a half hour staring into the forest and wondering when the light would change to either reveal or obscure more of the scene. I captured the moment just prior to the all-encompassing darkness. However, the parts that the light had illuminated stayed engraved in my mind and on the photograph. Nature truly can proclaim our humanity in a way that we can never quite explain properly. This capture hints at this concept even to the smallest fragment of a notion.
