Description of Item |
Size Technique Wheel thrown, altered with handbuilding About the Artist Laura has always been attracted to the four elements of earth, water, air and fire. Without each of them, pottery would not be possible. The elements are dependent on each other in order to create the simplest of forms but too much of one can destroy what you are working on at any stage of the process. For her, the necessary processes of letting go and detachment are very therapeutic. Each piece of pottery is as unique as individuals are. Clay from the earth is mixed with water, formed by the potter’s hand, dried with air and fired to create a simple cup. But pick one up and really get to know it. Find that little thing that makes it unique, imperfect, beautiful. Do this and you’ll never look at two cups the same again! Studio/Business
