RAVELIN BAKERY

Ravelin Bakery of Denton is known for its Fine Pastries and Artisan Breads made with all-natural ingredients. Eric and Pam Helland, owners, have been feeding the hungry of Denton through the Empty Bowls Project for almost twenty years. They have contributed bread to the annual fund-raising luncheon which currently serves over 300 hundred people. This year, while we cannot hold a luncheon, they are continuing to serve the hungry by providing a gift certificate for this auction.  Just think an artisan loaf of bread every week for six months!  Thank you for your continued generous support.   Visit Ravelin Bakery at 416 S. Elm St., Denton, TX  76201.

BILL REED

Bill Reed, a retired engineer and whose hobby is making ceramic bowls, has combined his creativity with his desire to serve the hungry in Denton. Bill has contributed to the Empty Bowls project for over 15 years. People have begun collecting his bowls as he inscribes a thought for the day on the bottom of each bowl. This year he has added sets of graduated bowls. Thank you, Bill, for your continuing effort to fight hunger in Denton through Empty Bowls of Denton.

CJ Solberg

It has been a joy and a privilege to be involved with Our Daily Bread since the early days when our guests numbered just a handful of grateful diners. Through the years I have enjoyed prepping food, washing dishes, wrapping Christmas gifts, serving on the board, selling frito pies at the Arts and Jazz Festival, picking up food from the food bank, producing the newsletter and a few other of the numerous tasks it takes to offer the guests basic needs and services.

It has also been my pleasure to share one of my hobbies with Empty Bowls of Denton, the amazing group that has been raising funds for ODB since it opened its doors.  The art of fusing glass is both fun and fascinating.  Each year I challenge myself to get fired up and make bowls of as many shapes, colors and patterns as my kiln and the selections of glass on hand allow.

My hope is that you will be delighted with the bowls that Empty Bowls has assembled this year and that you will use them in good health and as a reminder of your contribution to meeting the needs of our neighbors.
