Bill Reed

Bill Reed, a retired engineer and whose hobby is making ceramic bowls, has combined his creativity with his desire to serve the hungry in Denton. Bill has contributed to the Empty Bowls project for over 15 years. People have begun collecting his bowls as he inscribes a thought for the day on the bottom of each bowl. This year he has added sets of graduated bowls. Thank you, Bill, for your continuing effort to fight hunger in Denton through Empty Bowls of Denton.

The Solbergs

The fabulous glass plates and bowls included in our online sale this year were made and donated by CJ Solberg. CJ and her husband John, a leader in the Golden Triangle Woodturners Club, have been supporters of the Empty Bowls of Denton since its beginning in 2000.  John and CJ have attended every Empty Bowls of Denton luncheon for the past 20 years. In addition, they have donated many items for our luncheon, auctions and sales. Thanks to John and CJ for their unwavering support of Empty Bowls and dedication to feeding the hungry in Denton.

Golden Triangle Woodturners

The beautiful wooden bowls included in our sale and auction were donated by members of the Golden Triangle Woodturners Club. They seek to promote community interest in woodturning and provide guidance and aid to woodturners through the combined resources, knowledge and experience of their members. The Golden Triangle Woodturners have donated thousands of bowls to Empty Bowls of Denton over the past 20 years.
