| Description of Item |
65 antique Unequal Nine Patch 7" square blocks c. 1900-1920, in red gingham (29) red plaid (20), red chambray (9), and red print (7), with black sashing and a cream central cornerstone. The tiny individual nine patch blocks are 3" square, the patches are 1" finished. Hand pieced; some of the patches are also pieced to eke out the fabric. Good condition; clean, no stains or holes. These appear to have been made by a novice quilter, perhaps a child working on her first quilt. Donated by Lisa Cart. |
