About This Item

Description of Item

Quilt - Red and green applique, quadrant design of four plants bearing red flowers with cheddar centers, possibly based on a Christmas cactus,  66" X 72" c.1870 - 1890s

Machine appliqued, hand quilted, poor condition.  Faded and worn.  Green stems and leaves completely faded on 50% of the border.  Although this piece is not in prime condition. it's a beautiful quilt with a folk art vibe. A great study piece. It would look great on a wall.

Donated by Ruth Pearson.
