Churn Dash variation, 78" X 78", 1920-1940, Found in Indiana; maker unknown. From the collection of Linda Koenig, author of Scrap Quilts and Ratsburg Road Quilts, (both published by Quiltmania) and The 4" x 5" Quilt- Block Anthology. Twenty-five 12" butter yellow Churn Dash variation blocks are set together in straight rows and separated by 4" white sashing to form the design field. The applied binding is the same soft yellow, over a white back. Tightly hand pieced and joined, hand quilted in echo zigzag line 1" apart through the sashing and in 1" diagonals through the pattern blocks. Good condition; a few broken quilting lines. Linda used antique quilts as inspiration for her own work. (Donated by her daughter Bryn Inman, in memory of Linda Koenig.)
